Terms of service
Last updated 17 September 2026
The short version: use Compesight to monitor public information about companies you compete with, don't use it to harass anyone or to get at data that isn't public, and we'll keep the service running honestly.
The service
Compesight monitors public web pages and public APIs you nominate, detects changes, classifies them, and presents them as findings, alerts and battlecards.
Classification and battlecard content are produced with the assistance of language models. They are aids to your judgement, not statements of fact. Every finding links to the snapshot it came from so you can check it. Don't make a decision that matters without following that link.
Your account
You're responsible for activity in your workspace and for keeping your credentials secure. Workspace owners manage billing and membership; members can do everything else.
You must be authorised to act for the organisation whose workspace you create, and you must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
Acceptable use
Add sources that are publicly accessible. Do not use Compesight to attempt access to anything behind a login, paywall or other access control, and do not add sources in order to monitor a private individual.
Do not attempt to reach another workspace's data, probe our infrastructure without permission, or resell the service as your own product.
We may suspend a workspace that puts the service or our crawling reputation at risk. Where we can, we'll tell you first.
Crawling conduct
We crawl politely: robots.txt is honoured, requests are rate-limited, and failures back off. You cannot instruct us to override this, and requests to do so will be declined.
If a site asks us to stop, we stop for every customer, including for sources already configured.
Plans, billing and cancellation
Paid plans are billed in advance through Paddle, who are the merchant of record. Plan limits on competitors tracked, crawl frequency and monthly classification budget are enforced by the service.
Exceeding your classification budget does not lose your data: crawling and diffing continue and classification is queued until the budget resets or you raise it.
You can cancel at any time from the billing page. You keep the plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to the free plan. We don't refund partial periods unless the law where you are requires it.
Your data
Your workspace data is yours. We process it to run the service, as described in our privacy page. You can export or delete it at any time.
We don't sell it, and we don't use one customer's monitoring data to serve another.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Compesight available and accurate, but we provide it as-is. We can't guarantee that every change on every site will be detected, nor that a third-party source will remain accessible to us.
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we'll tell you by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
